This BOSCH (F 026 407 205) oil filter is developed for B38 (1.5 Litre 3 Cylinder Petrol) engines produced in 2015 and later in BMW 1 Series (F20 LCI) facelift models. Bosch's superior filtration technology purifies the engine oil from carbon, soot, and metal particles, protecting the sensitive turbocharger and VANOS systems of the B38 engine. My car is a 2013 model 116i (N13 Engine), will this filter fit? NO, IT DOES NOT FIT! The 116i/118i vehicles produced between 2011-2015 have a 4-cylinder N13 engine, and the oil filter is much shorter (F 026 407 173). This product is only for 3-cylinder B38 engines produced after 2015.
How much oil does the B38 engine take? BMW 118i (B38) engine vehicles take approximately 4.25 Litres of engine oil with the oil filter change.
What is the installation torque value? It is recommended to tighten the oil filter cap with a torque wrench to 25 Nm (+5). Don't forget to lubricate the seal with clean engine oil before installation.
Which other vehicles does it fit? This filter is also compatible with the petrol B38 engines of BMW 2 Series (Active Tourer), 3 Series (318i F30 LCI), X1 (F48), and MINI Cooper (F55/F56) models.
