Timing Chain Noise (Gasoline & Diesel):
A rattling noise from the chain when cold can lead to engine damage.
Solution: Replace the chain and tensioners in a timely manner. -
Turbo Failure:
If there is a drop in power, smoke, or oil consumption, the turbo should be checked.
Solution: Use quality oil, and have the turbo revised or replaced if faulty. -

Short-distance driving can clog the particulate filter, reducing power.
Solution: The vehicle should be used on long drives occasionally, and service cleaning should be performed if necessary. -

Solution: These parts should be checked around 100,000 km and replaced if necessary. -

The iDrive screen may freeze, and there may be noises from the interior trim.
Solution: Have a software update performed, and replace loose plastics and seals. -
