It is fully compatible with the 116d (B37 Diesel) and 118i (B38 Petrol) engines on BMW's current front-wheel-drive platform. Does this filter fit my old body (F20) 116d/118i vehicle? NO, IT DOES NOT FIT! Even if the engine codes (B37/B38) are the same, the oil filter of F20 models produced between 2011-2019 is longer. This product (F 026 407 277) is only for vehicles produced after 2019 with the F40 chassis.
Is there the same filter for petrol and diesel vehicles? Yes. In BMW's new generation F40 chassis, the 118i (Petrol) and 116d (Diesel) engine blocks use a common filter module. This product is compatible with both engine types.
What is the installation torque value? It is recommended to tighten the oil filter cap with a torque wrench at 25 Nm (+5). Don't forget to lubricate the seal with clean engine oil before installation.
Which other vehicles does it fit? This filter is also compatible with; BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe (F44), X1 (F48 LCI), X2 (F39), 2 Series Active Tourer (U06), and new generation MINI Cooper models.
