Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

My vehicle has an N47 engine, will this filter fit? Note! There are 2 types of filters for vehicles with N47 engines. If your vehicle is a 116d EfficientDynamics, this "Panel" filter fits. However, standard 116d/118d (2.0 engine) usually uses a "Cylinder/Round" filter. Please check the shape of your vehicle's air filter box (Flat or Round) before placing an order.
Is it compatible with the B37 engine? Yes. This panel filter is used in all 3-cylinder 1.5 diesel (B37) engines in the facelifted (LCI) F20 models from 2015 onwards.
How often should I change it? Bosch recommends checking the air filter at every oil service (10,000 - 15,000 km) and replacing it at least every 20,000 km. A dirty air filter can increase fuel consumption by up to 10%.
Is it easy to install? Yes. The air filter box usually opens with clips or a few screws. You can easily replace it yourself without any special service tools.
