Will it cause performance loss in my S54 Swap vehicle? You won't notice a difference in standard daily use. However, since the S54 engine is a unit that revs up to 8000 RPM, standard filters like BSG may restrict airflow a bit earlier than OEM filters when they become dirty at higher RPMs. Therefore, it is recommended to replace the filter every 5,000-7,000 km in S54 units.
Can I clean this filter with compressed air and reinstall it? **ABSOLUTELY NOT.** Compressed air tears and enlarges the micro-pores in the filter paper. In this case, the filter becomes unable to perform its function and allows dust to enter the engine directly. Due to its economical price, replacing it with a new one instead of cleaning is the healthiest option.
It doesn't fit perfectly in the filter box, what should I do? The seal of the filter may have stretched during shipping. When placing the filter, first ensure that the corners are seated properly. If the housing cover does not close, clean any debris from the bottom of the housing. If it still does not fit, do not force it; air leakage in the engine poses a serious risk for the S54.
