BRAXIS AE0338 | Cooling Channels | High Performance

This BRAXIS (AE0338) brand Vented type rear brake disc is produced for the rear brake system of high engine volume (or specially equipped) BMW 3 Series E46 (1998-2005) vehicles. Thanks to the air channels located between two metal plates, it prevents brake overheating, especially during aggressive driving or downhill descents, eliminating the risk of brake fade.

  • Vented (Cooling) Structure: The channels inside the disc expel air outward with centrifugal force, allowing the disc to cool quickly.
  • Vibration-Free Driving: Manufactured with balanced adjustments on precision CNC machines, it does not cause steering wheel vibration when braking at high speeds.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

My car originally has a solid (flat) disc, can I install this? **ABSOLUTELY NOT.** Vented discs are thicker and will not fit into your brake caliper designed for a flat disc. You cannot make this change on your own thinking "it cools better"; you will also need to completely change (upgrade) the caliper and carriers. Please check what is currently on your vehicle.
Can I use my old pads with the new disc? Not recommended. If you install a pad that has taken shape (scratched or unevenly worn) on an old disc onto a brand new and smooth disc; you will scratch your new disc in a short time, create a "squealing" noise, and reduce braking performance. When installing a new disc, **always use new pads**.
What should I do before installing the discs? New brake discs are coated with a protective layer of oil to prevent rusting while on the shelf. This oil must be thoroughly washed off with "Brake Pad Spray" just before installation. Otherwise, the brakes will not hold.
