This is a complete thermostat from the BGA (CT5029) brand, produced for the BMW 3 Series E46 (1998-2001) chassis and M43 coded gasoline engines. It is manufactured to OEM standards by BG Automotive (BGA), a leading engine parts manufacturer in the UK. This thermostat features "Map Controlled" (Electronic Heating) technology to maintain the engine's ideal operating temperature of 105 Degrees and works in perfect harmony with the engine control unit (DME).

My car is a 2003 model 318i, will this part fit? NO, IT DOES NOT FIT. The E46 models after 2002 use N42 or N46 engines. The thermostat structure of these engines is completely different. This product is only for M43 engines before 2001.
Isn't 105 degrees too hot? No, the thermodynamic structure of the M43 engine is designed accordingly. It operates at 105°C for efficient combustion and low emissions. This is not a fault, it is a factory spec. Installing a lower-rated thermostat increases fuel consumption.
Should I use liquid gasket? The product comes with its own gasket. It is sufficient to install it with its own gasket on a clean surface. Applying extra liquid gasket (silicone) is not recommended as it may block the channels.
