This is a complete thermostat from the BSG (15-126-011) brand, compatible with the BMW 3 Series E46 (1998-2001) chassis and M43 coded 4-cylinder gasoline engines. Produced with BSG quality focused on price/performance, this product allows you to economically solve issues such as cracked plastic housing, leaking gaskets, or stuck thermostats. It has an original factory value of 105 Degrees operating temperature and supports "Map Controlled" (Electronically Controlled) feature.

  • Complete Set: Comes ready for installation, including not just the inner thermostat but also the outer plastic housing (block) and gasket.
  • Heated Type: Communicates with the engine control unit (ECU) through the socket input, allowing the thermostat to open early under challenging conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does it fit the N42 (Facelift/Valvetronic) engine? NO, IT DOES NOT FIT. The thermostat connections and orientation of the N42 coded engines produced at the end of 2001 and after 2002 are different. This product is only for the older type M43 engines.
Why is there a socket input? This thermostat contains a heating resistor. The engine control unit (DME) sends electricity through this socket during sudden loads to heat the thermostat, allowing it to open without waiting for 105 degrees. This feature is critical for performance and cooling.
Is the gasket included? Yes, it comes out of the product box with the gasket pressing against the block surface. Generally, there is no need to apply extra liquid gasket; clean surface installation is sufficient.
