This is a high-performance water pump from DAYCO (DP271), designed for the first production series of the BMW 3 Series E46 (1998-2001) with the M43 coded engines (1.6 and 1.9 liters). Manufactured by Dayco, an expert in belt systems, this pump converts the power from the E46's cooling belt into circulation without loss. Thanks to its reinforced bearing structure, it operates quietly at high speeds and maintains stable temperature.

  • M43 Compatibility: It is fully compatible with the older 8-valve M43B19 and M43B16 engines in the E46 chassis. (It is not compatible with facelift models using N42 engines).

My car is a 2003 model 316i, will this part fit? NO, IT WILL NOT FIT. After 2002, E46 models use new generation engines coded N40/N42/N45/N46. The water pump for these engines is different.
Will it fit a 3.20i / 3.25i (6 Cylinder) vehicle? No. The water pump for 6-cylinder (M52/M54) engines is larger. This product is only for 4-cylinder M43 engines.
