I had a hard time trying to remove the old pin; will I damage the metal? How should I install it? In F10 chassis, the lock pins are factory-fitted very tightly from the inside. While holding the old pin with needle-nose pliers or regular pliers, be sure to wrap a cloth around it so you don't scratch the plastic ring underneath. It will come out when you grip it firmly and twist it slightly to the right/left while pulling up.
