My vehicle is a W124 Coupe (C124), will the front seals of this 4-piece set fit my vehicle? **ABSOLUTELY NOT.** The doors of W124 Coupe vehicles are "frame-less" and their sealing systems are completely different from Sedan chassis. You need to order different seal sets specifically produced for Coupe vehicles.
I installed the seals, but my doors have started to close very hard, did I mess up my old lock adjustment? No, your lock adjustment has not been messed up. Your old seals had compressed over the years like paper. The rubber of the new seals is thick and filled with air. For the first 1-2 months, you will need to close your doors a bit harder (faster). Over time, the rubber will take the shape of the door and compress, and the closing sensitivity will return to normal. Please do not tamper with the lock adjustments, otherwise, you will continue to get wind noise.
Should I use super glue or liquid silicone during installation? Generally, no. The seals have steel/hard plastic veins or clip pins that ensure a tight grip on the body sheet. They are mostly pressed into place. However, in some critical areas like the lower sill, a professional automotive seal adhesive (yellow adhesives of the bally type) may be used lightly. Never use hardening super glue or construction silicone; they will corrode the sheet and make removal impossible.
