BMW E34 Transmission Mount

KAUTEK BM-TM008 | Compatible with 5 Series & 3 Series

The KAUTEK (BM-TM008) transmission mount (ear) is designed to secure the transmission to the chassis of BMW 5 Series E34 (1988-1996) and 3 Series (E30, E36) vehicles. It is a rubber isolator that prevents the vibrations produced by the engine and transmission group from transferring to the cabin. Over the years, mounts that have become lubricated and softened can cause excessive movement in the gear lever and clunking in the shaft tunnel during take-offs.

How many are there in my E34? In manual transmission models of E34 chassis, there are 2 pieces located on the crossmember holding the transmission, one on the right and one on the left. It is recommended to replace both at the same time for a healthy balance.
Will it fit an automatic transmission? This mount is used in some E34 automatic transmissions (especially 520i - ZF transmission), while others (GM transmission or larger engines) may have different, wider mounts. Visual inspection or confirmation with the chassis number is required for automatic vehicles. For manual vehicles, this is 99% accurate.
Why is my gear boot tearing? If the transmission mounts are broken, the transmission moves excessively up and down when you press the gas. This movement pulls the gear lever and can cause the leather boot or gear frame to break or tear. Replacing the mounts will solve this issue.
