When I pull the lever from inside, the hood opens very hard or someone has to push down on the hood from the outside. Will just replacing the right lock fix it?
The difficulty in opening the hood is caused by two reasons: Either your lock mechanisms (right and left) have rusted and jammed, or the hood release cable connecting the locks to each other and inside has rusted and stretched. If the right lock is obviously broken, this product will solve the problem, but for the system to work perfectly, it is generally recommended to replace the right lock, left lock, and release cable as a set, followed by a proper adjustment of the hood lock by a good body shop.
When I close the hood, the right side stays up (gap) and doesn't sit properly. Is this part the reason?
