My vehicle has the W205 AMG Package, will these springs fit? We do not recommend it. The factory coils of AMG package vehicles are set to "Sport Suspension" specifications; meaning they are shorter and stiffer. These BSG springs are a standard (softer and longer) coil. If you install them on your AMG vehicle, the front will rise excessively and your cornering balance will be disrupted.
Only the right coil is broken, can I just buy one? According to suspension component regulations, NO. If you install a new spring on the right side and leave the worn spring on the left, your vehicle will sit unevenly. When you brake, the vehicle will dangerously pull to the weaker side (left). Your alignment will never hold. It must be ordered in pairs (2 pieces) without exception.
Is it necessary to change the springs when changing the shock absorbers? It is not mandatory, but if your vehicle has exceeded 150,000 km, the springs have likely lost a significant amount of their elasticity. Since the front suspension (shock absorbers) is already removed and labor has been paid, renewing the coil springs will restore the driving feel of the vehicle to what it was on the first day it came out of the factory.
