This is the outer axle boot kit produced by the world-renowned German spare part giant FEBI BILSTEIN (02599) for the legendary E Series W210 Chassis (1995-2003) vehicles known as "Cat Eye" by Mercedes-Benz. It retains the grease inside the axle head (in the bellows) that transmits the massive torque of the W210's heavy chassis to the wheel while creating an impenetrable shield against water, mud, and abrasive dust splashing from the road. My inner axle boot is torn, can I buy this and install it on the inner side (differential side)? **ABSOLUTELY NOT.** The diameters of the "Inner" part connecting the axle shaft to the differential and the "Outer" part connecting to the wheel are different. This product is only suitable for the outer (wheel) side. You should order a product with a reference for the inner boot for the inner side.
The boot on my front wheel is torn, will this part fit there? W210 chassis vehicles (except very rare 4MATIC models) are rear-wheel drive and do not have a power-transmitting axle shaft at the front wheels. If you see a torn boot behind your front wheel, it is most likely the "Steering Rack Boot." This FEBI part we listed is for the main drive shaft of the rear wheels.
