Mercedes ML (W164) Velvet Door Seal

The Mercedes-Benz ML Series W164 (2005-2011) is designed to completely eliminate door creaks and trim noises caused by the hardening seals over time. This Velvet (Flocked) body seal is specifically engineered for this purpose. Standard rubber seals can create noise by rubbing against metal during the body flex of the ML, which is an off-road vehicle (over bumps, turns). The special velvet layer on the surface of this product reduces friction to zero, restoring the original "premium silence" of the ML series.

  • Anti-Squeak (Noise Isolation): The flocked surface completely prevents friction noise when the door closes and while the vehicle is in motion.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Will it fit my GL Series (X164) vehicle? The W164 (ML) and X164 (GL) share the same platform. The door seal profiles are the same, but the rear doors of the GL series may be slightly larger. If the product is sold by the meter, there should be no issue, but if it is a pre-cut "ML Set," it may be short for the GL. It is recommended to inform the seller that it is for a GL.
Why should I choose a "Velvet" seal? Standard rubber seals dry out and harden over time. Every time the vehicle flexes, they rub against the body, creating a "squeak" sound. With velvet seals, the contact surface is fabric-like, so friction noise never occurs.
Is installation difficult? No. W164 chassis seals should snap in. Simply pull out the old seal and fit the new seal into the channel starting from the corners. You can tap it into place with a rubber mallet or your hand.
