Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Are the seals velvet (flocked)?
Yes, this is the most critical detail for F30 users. The parts of the product facing the interior are covered with soft velvet that integrates with the vehicle's headliner. They do not look simple like flat rubber seals and do not create squeaking noises due to friction.
Does it eliminate the chronic wind noise in F30s?
The compression of seals over time in BMW F30 chassis causes wind noise at speeds above 100-120 km/h. This new and uncompressed seal set renews the insulation between the door and body, significantly reducing wind noise and road noise.
How is the installation done, is adhesive required?
No, adhesive is not required. The seals are mounted using a clip-on system that fits into the metal channel on the body. After pulling out the old seal, it is sufficient to align the corners of the new seal and fit it into the channel.
Will my doors close hard?
The new seals are fuller and firmer compared to the old compressed seals. Therefore, the closing resistance of the doors may slightly increase during the first 1-2 weeks after installation. As you get used to the seals, the closing firmness will return to normal, and complete sealing will be achieved.
