Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Are the seals velvet or plain rubber?
The product is made of velvet (flocked) material, as per original BMW standards. Plain rubber seals do not match the interior trim quality of the E60 and may cause noise. This product provides both visual integrity and prevents friction noises.
Does it reduce wind noise?
It is common for wind noise to occur at high speeds due to the compression of seals over time in BMW E60 chassis. The new seal set significantly reduces wind and road noise by filling the gap between the door and body to factory specifications.
How is it installed, does it require adhesive?
The seals are a slip-on (clipped) system and do not require adhesive. They are fitted into the metal channel on the body using hand force or with the help of a plastic mallet. You can easily install them by aligning the corner turns.
Are they compatible with vacuum doors?
Yes, they are compatible. However, since the new seals are thicker than the old compressed seals, the doors may close a bit harder or the vacuum system may be slightly strained for the first 1-2 weeks. As the seals adjust (find their form), closing will return to normal.
